TFL Strikes July 2023
Transport for London (TFL) have announced several days of strike action affecting the capital from Sunday 23rd until Friday 28th July. The industrial action on the London underground is due to dissatisfaction with pay and working conditions, 600 jobs are due to be axed which would put even more strain on the workforce.
Further details relating to the stations and tube lines affected by the strike action will be published in the next couple of weeks, as and when it is announced. General disruption across most of the service is to be expected though, with staff of different job roles striking on different days of the industrial action period.
At this moment, we know the courses that we are providing in the month of July that will be affected by this strike action. The courses and days affected are as follows:
IELTS 3 Week Language Course - 25th, 26th and 27th July.
OET 3 Week Language Course - 25th, 26th and 27th July.
NMC OSCE London Centre Review and Training - 26th, 27th and 28th July.
If you have training booked on these dates for these courses, make sure to check for any updates throughout the leadup to your training. Even as late as the day of training, regularly checking could help you avoid delays to your journey to IELTS Medical.
The RMT (Rail, Maritime and Transport) union represents the London underground workers in their strike action, their spokesperson Mick Lynch said the strikes were going to “shut down the network and show just how important the work of our members is”.
It is important to remain calm whilst going through your training with IELTS Medical, many factors throughout the day can be subject to unforeseen changes. Making sure to check for updates on this industrial action is a way for you to ensure maximum focus on the training and exam content.
