Why We Changed Our NMC OSCE Course Format (Adult / General Nursing OSCE Edition)

For over 8 years, we have consistently delivered 3 - 7 day NMC OSCE courses, with all of the training done each day in succession. Whilst we have met some excellent nurses over the years and maintained good pass rates, we found that some Adult (General) Nurses were feeling stressed at the idea of achieving all of the competencies within a week and pressured that if you did not, you would not have support for your big day. This did not sit well with the IELTS Medical team - we always want you to feel at your best and most confident when you take any exams after training with us.
The new format for our High Quality NMC OSCE 4 week course
The new format provides you with 5 in person days across 4 weeks. So, you'll have 2 x in-person days at the start of your course featuring your APIE and 8 of the following NMC OSCE skills: Aseptic Non-Touch Technique; Blood Glucose Monitoring; Catheter Specimen of Urine; Fine-bore Nasogastric Tube Insertion; Intramuscular Injection (IM); Intravenous (IV) Flush and Visual Infusion Phlebitis; Oxygen Therapy; Removal of Urinary Catheter and Subcutaneous Injection (SC).
We look forward to meeting you and ensuring that you are given the best possible chance to join the NMC register.
