Southbank is an area of London with so much going on, to be found here is the iconic London Eye, The London Dungeons, the world-famous Southbank Skatepark and The National Theatre as well as many fantastic restaurants where you can have a meal or snack, to eat in or take away!

The area is vibrant and lively, with plenty of attractions suitable for children and young families. There is plenty of space to sit and relax with an ice cream or cold drink.

 

1 - London Eye

Take in the incredible panoramic views of the entirety of London from the iconic landmark, make sure to remember your camera for photos and memories that you will cherish forever. The highest point of the London Eye is 135 metres, these views will be breathtaking.

2 - National Theatre

Through September and October, you can catch top shows such as “The Effect” and “The Father and the Assassin” among many more titles across the various stages at the National Theatre Southbank.

3 - The London Dungeon

The London Dungeon features 19 shows and 20 actors. Visitors are taken on a journey through 1,000 years of London's history where they meet actors performing as some of London's most infamous characters, including Jack the Ripper and Sweeney Todd.

4 - Southbank skate park

Take a few minutes watching the skateboarders and BMX riders on this globally iconic skatepark. The Southbank under croft is the oldest continually used skatepark in the world! The famous skate area was first utilised in 1973 and is still thriving today.

 

5 - Restaurants  

Many restaurants in the Southbank area are available for both eat in and take away services. Restaurants such as Wahaca, Honest Burgers and Wagamama are located in this area and serve reasonably priced meals, being prepared fairly quickly and always being delicious.

 

6 – BFI IMAX

This is an immersive cinema located near Waterloo station on Southbank, showing classic movies, new releases and 3D titles in a fantastic setting, the cinema even has the largest screen in the UK!
BFI IMAX attracts over 350,000 visitors each year and the cinema is also notable for its all night screenings of popular film series such as The Dark Night series, The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Harry Potter.
