London’s Parks
London has many amazing parks that are free to visit and offer well needed respite from the rapid pace of London life and a chance to see some naturally beautiful landscapes. At IELTS Medical we are aware that training can be stressful for our learners, we understand that our learners want to pass their exams first time and move on to the next step in their journey to become licensed to practise in the UK.
Visiting these parks can provide a much-needed rest for our learners, allowing them to enjoy some lovely scenery and wildlife activity whilst they have a sit down, drink or a picnic. This blog post highlights some of the attractions that can be enjoyed in some of London’s most well recognised parks.
These parks are located in different areas of London so no matter what side of the city you are in, there is sure to be a park nearby to offer activities for all ages and spaces to relax.
Hyde Park
Hyde Park is one of the most iconic parks in London, there is so much going on in the park and many things to do including hiring a deckchair, riding bikes or even swimming. There are plenty of beautiful areas within Hyde Park including a lake, a meadow, a rose garden and a memorial fountain dedicated to the late Princess Diana.
Marble Arch is located right outside Hyde Park and is spectacular to see, it was designed by the famous architect Sir John Nash. It was originally designed to be an entrance to Buckingham Palace but was moved when the Palace was expanded to accommodate Queen Victoria’s growing family.
The Arch even has 3 small rooms inside and almost unbelievably, the Arch was used as a police station from 1851 to 1868!
