What is Test of Competence 21?

The NMC's Test of Competence was launched in 2014 with candidates needing to complete a Multiple Choice exam and 6-Stations in order to complete NMC registration. In 2021, the NMC decided to change the Test of Competence and increase the number of stations candidates are required to pass in order to succed. The new 10-Stations OSCE is a formidable test. The CBT now features two parts: Part A (Numeracy) and Part B (MCQ). Now, both parts must be passed for the candidate to be registered. Furthermore, for the NMC OSCE there are brand new scenarios and two new stations called Professional Values and Evidence based practice.
