Band 5 Salary
Most newly qualified nurses will start on Band 5 pay, the current starting salary for Band 5 Nurses is £24,907.
After 2-4 years of experience, your salary would rise to £26,970.
And at the very top of this banding, you’ll be paid £30,615.
Band 6 Salary
Typically Band 6 Nurses include Senior Nurses, Deputy Ward Managers, Health Visitors and various specialist nurses.
The current starting salary of a Band 6 Nurse is £31,365 and rises to £37,890 after seven years of experience.
Band 7 Salary
Band 7 Nursing roles include Ward Managers, Emergency Nurse, Practitioner and clinical specialist.
The current starting salary for a Band 7 Nurse starts at £38,890 and rises to £44,503 after seven years of experience.
Band 8 and 9 Salary
There are only a few people that enter Band 8 and 9 pay. There are only a few types of roles that qualify.
Band 8 and 9 roles typically apply to Modern Matrons, Chief Nurses and Consultants.
Band 8 roles start at £45,753, but rise to £87,754 a year.
Meanwhile, Band 9 roles start at £91,004 and rise to £104,927 per year.
