Medically trained patients on our NMC OSCE course?


We’re always excited to see our doctors and even more so when they volunteer to play patients during our NMC OSCE scenarios. You see, our OSCE course is always led by Senior Registered Nurses and our OSCE nurses are always delighted to use the Laerdal Anne or Sim Man dummies that are always ready, willing and able patients. However, it’s always nice to have a live (and rather unpredictable

patient there in person (just like in the examination) – and it’s even better when they’re medically trained! Our February nurses were in for a treat when Dr. D made a Special Guest appearance starring as OSCE patient. From Shortness of Breath to Bowel issues, Dr. D’s portrayals made what was a “wonderful” day, even better.

Thank you Dr. D and who knows, you may get to meet a medically trained patient on your next NMC OSCE course on 4th March, 2019.
