Innovations for training in the Medical industry
As the digitalisation of healthcare continues to expand throughout the medical industry, innovative technologies are set to deliver substantial opportunities to hospital organisations that implement them. Healthcare workers are under immense pressure to deliver top-quality health care with limited resources. Innovation in the industry drives economic growth and can improve the speed of procedures, diagnosis and treatment in a more reliable way. In this blog, 2 innovative technologies are discussed because they can be used for training purposes as well as medical procedures in hospitals.
ORBEYE:
This is a digital magnification camera enabling surgeons to conduct better microsurgery. This means that traditional microscopes used by surgeons when looking at the surgical site are disregarded with a more reliable and clear piece of technology. It provides a 4K3D view of the surgical site projected onto a 55inch screen allowing surgeons to view a much clearer picture of the surgical site. This improves the reliability of the procedure and ensures accuracy. This also allows the entire team to see the site and not just the surgeon. This positively impacts the surgical team and facilitates training for other training professionals.
Virtual reality:
Virtual reality (VR) is so versatile in the medical industry. With true-life medical scenarios, doctors and nurses can prepare for the most challenging real-life circumstances. VR used in training reduces the cognitive load in education through immerse learning and helps people achieve higher quality results. This also means they can easily train and switch between scenarios getting to know their way around more than one procedure. VR can elevate teaching and learning medicine to a whole new level.
At IELTS Medical, we are implementing VR into training our doctors and nurses from around the world. This is still in the development process but it will soon be implemented. We provide the best possible training and experience to work in the medical industry in the UK. If you would like to see more study tips, news and innovations keep an eye out for our latest blog.
