How to prepare for the NMC CBT exam on the go

During the current national lockdown restrictions, exams are still going on.

Therefore, if you are an international nurse, you will still need to prepare for the NMC Computer based test or CBT for short. This needs to be passed so you can do the OSCE and then practice here in the UK.

Well don’t worry; we have made a list just to help YOU prepare:

·         Download our app, which includes mock exams and tips that are updated each week. For IOS users and for Android users.

·         Purchase our detailed guide, which also includes mock exams. You can find our one here.

·         You also need to add the information booklet to your essential reading list. This gives you an overview of the exam, and instruction & rules for the day you are going to take it.

·         It would be very helpful for you to read the ‘The Code as it has all the standards that all nurses need to uphold in one place.

·         If you’re going to do the exam after April, remember that the format will slightly change, now the CBT will be split into two parts - Part A will cover numeracy and Part B will cover nursing or midwifery theory.

·         Book for our 4 day in person courses in which you will receive advice from previous test takers and will be able to do a mock exam and get the results after. Find them here : https://ieltsmedical.co.uk/centre-course-dates

·         Remember that the overall pass mark is 68% for adult nursing so revise with this goal in mind. And don’t worry; if you don’t meet the pass mark the first time, you can re-sit the exam up to 3 times as part of one application
