How to Register With... Guides to Registering with the NMC


We often speak with nurses and midwives who are unsure of how to register with thier regulator, the Nursing and Midwifery Council. At first glance, you may consider the NMC registration process to be lengthy and complicated, but it's a lot more straightforward than you may realise. There are five main parts to registration. The first part is creating your NMC Online account on the NMC Online page. Then click on Register and select the option that applies to you eg. The process asks you to declare that you are in good health and of good character. Then you will have a timeline to complete. 

 

Step 1: Language stage: IELTS or OET or Exemption

 

Step 2: Test of Competence Part 1 or NMC CBT

Step 3: Test of Competence Part 2 or NMC OSCE
