Dealing with Disruptions

As many people are aware, longstanding disputes over pay and conditions have affected many services in the UK. Including train services, London Underground services and even Nurses and Doctors.

The disruption this has caused has affected the daily routines of millions of UK commuters, trying to get to work and receive health and care services. At IELTS Medical we want to make our learners aware and prepared to negotiate possible disruptions to services, by doing this we can help reduce stress levels for our learners.

Staying up to date with train services is a surefire way to be able to avoid disruption of travel, if you’re one of IELTS Medical’s learners and are travelling to attend training, the last thing you need is to realise your train has been cancelled. This can cause stress and may negatively affect your performance and ability to focus during training.

The National Rail website will regularly be updated with strike and disruption information which you can check whenever you need to. For example, if you check the evening before you travel it means if disruptions are present you can look into alternative modes of travel to reach training.

For our learners located outside of the Greater London Area one alternative to travelling by train is to travel by coach, a link to the National Express (coach travel website) will be provided at the end of this blog post.

IELTS Medical have a blog which is updated daily and will post updates to industrial actions when they are available, however if you feel you want live updates then check the National Rail website.
