Calling All Nurses - The NHS Visa Is A Top Priority

Following last night’s general election, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reaffirmed that the NHS is a top priority for the Conservative government.
The intention is to increase governmental investment in the NHS with a plan to recruit 50,000 more nurses over the next five years and to boost the number of GP appointments available nationwide.
International nurses and doctors will be a large part of this goal, and a new NHS visa will be introduced in order to fast-track the process. The government has also been asked to reduce visa fees. chief executive and general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Dame Donna Kinnair has urged the Conservatives to axe the ‘cruel’ immigration surcharge for overseas nurses as well as to ensure that workforce planning takes a more central role in the party’s plans.
