What is the IELTS exam?
The International English Language Testing System or IELTS™ is an Academic English exam that tests nurses and midwives’ listening, reading, speaking and writing skills in an academic context. For registration with the NMC, you need a minimum of band score 7.0 in listening, reading and speaking and a minimum of 6.5 in writing as well as 7.0 overall. The exam fee is currently between £150 - £190 depending on the test centre you choose. How can IELTS Medical help me with the IELTS exam?
We have courses and lots of resources (books; podcasts; apps) to help you to prepare for this exam. The shortest in-person course we have is the IELTS Test Prep which is a 3-week course that is for nurses and midwives who already have the requisite B2 level of English. The course is led by Native English IELTS trained educators and runs from Monday to Thursday from 10am to 3pm. The course fee is £1,084.07, which includes registration and the coursebook IELTS for Healthcare Professionals. We also have 6- and 12-week courses that include General English for IELTS and Grammar for IELTS. If you prefer to study online, we have IELTS Flex courses that can be scheduled any time between 9:00am GMT – 9:15pm GMT. Our IELTS Flex packages start from 10 hours for £420.00.
