The NMC OSCE stands for Objective Structured Clinical Examination, the OSCE legacy consists of 6 stations and the test of competence 2021 consists of 10 stations. Here at IELTS Medical we offer OSCE courses for Nurses (Adult, Mental Health, Paediatric, learning disability) and midwives.
We provide the option of doing 3,4- and 5-day courses. On the first day Nurses and Midwives will do APIE then the second day they will conduct skills and on the third day of the course they will write a full NMC OSCE mock exam and receive feedback. The fourth and fifth days are consolidation days meaning that if a nurse or a midwife has struggled in a particular skill on the second day then they are able to go over this skill on the refresher days, you are also able to write another mock exam and receive feedback on this mock exam to see what your strengths and weaknesses are, this way you can focus on certain aspects and improve them.
Our courses also consist of extras including pre-course materials such as the pre-course textbook as well as access to the learner’s portal where you are able to access revision videos up until your exam date. This way you are able to study at home even after you have finished with the course. Not only this but you will be joined to a WhatsApp Support group with other Nurses and Midwives, meaning if you need help with a certain question, you are able to ask your fellow nurses or midwives. This is also a great way to make friends with other people in the same profession as you, especially if you have come to the UK and don’t have any friends or family living here.
