What is the OET?
The Occupational English Test or OET is an English language exam specifically for healthcare professionals. It tests the English language skills of healthcare professionals in a healthcare context.
What is the OET exam like?
For the listening subtest, there are three sections featuring a dialogue between a healthcare professional and a patient; followed by a short (1 minute) and longer (approximate 5 minute) audio text. For reading, there are also three section. The first section is a speed-reading test, followed by a short (100–150-word section) and a longer (approximately 600-700) text. The writing test follows with case notes that require a discharge, referral or transfer letter. The final subtest is the speaking subtest that is a roleplay between the healthcare professional and an interlocutor.

Approximately, 3 weeks ago, Dr. M enrolled in our 3-week OET course. With classes from 10am – 5pm on Monday to Thursday, she attended our in person OET course for Doctors.
