A little bit about yourself

I am a doctor, specialized in internal medicine/infectious diseases and I currently work part-time. In my spare time I enjoy yoga and hiking and learning about different cultures.

Your academic background

MRCP 2008. MBBS 2005 (London). Fulbright 2009 (USA) MA 2002 (Cambridge). Teach the clinical teacher (UCL) My students, patients and colleagues – my most useful academic experience.

Teaching experience

20 years + experience of tutoring and mentoring colleagues. Specific exam experience includes MRCP, PLAB, OSCE’s for finals. Particular interests in communication skills, and applying skills in real life scenarios. I also teach English as a foreign language (TEFL). Firm believer that learning should be fun, and try to encourage that in what I do.

Why did you start teaching?

After school, I was lucky to spend a year in the Helambu region of Nepal. This was an immensely rewarding experience, giving me a great foundation for teaching for the rest of my career. It’s a great privilege to join a student’s journey, and to learn something new every day.
