Sometimes nurses want to train on a Saturday and this particular photograph was taken on just after the final Saturday session of one of our Client’s first overseas nurses cohorts of 2021.
Quarantine courses
Their migration from amber list countries meant that for their first ten days, the nurses were required to quarantine in government appointed hotels. During this period, to supplement the training they were being provided by their employers, we delivered 2 days welcoming them to the UK and providing pure NMC OSCE online training… We knew that even though they had arrived in the Capital, there was more to the UK than noisy planes and daily tours around airport-based hotels…
State of the art Central London training centre & accommodation
Once the group were able to, the nurses transferred to accommodation just 5-minutes walk from our Central London training centre for healthcare professionals. Training intensively with all of the equipment used in the exam, on the day this photo was taken, they’d covered all stations including the SC Injections with the BD SafetyGlide™ Insulin Syringe with 6mm Needles that are being phased into the NMC OSCE exams. During their downtime, the nurses were able to further explore London including the gorgeous Hyde Park that is a mere 5 minutes from us and the bustling Oxford Street that is only a stone’s throw away too…
Hard work pays off
On the day, each of the nurses was given a different NMC OSCE scenario ranging from pre-op to palliative patients, with a mix of skills ranging across the eleven currently available. All were well-prepared and they delivered their NMC OSCE exams superbly; demonstrating that they are indeed competent and safe nurses worthy of UK registration.
We are absolutely delighted to confirm that all ten pre-registered overseas nurses in this photo are now fully UK registered nurses with a 100% first time pass rate.
